a day for earth to be happy

Nathan and I celebrated Earth Day by having a mini green date (quite literally!) tonight. We had green tea truffles and macarons accompanied by a green tea latte from a coffee shop with a green sign. But all tasty green things aside, I also:

1 learned how to check if there are water leaks in my house
2 read up on how to use leaves and grass to create mulch for my garden
3 found out that when growing herbs, the less water the better (it just dilutes the flavour!)
4 spent the better part of my day recycling anniversary cards into birthday cards while my computer took a nap
5 and plan to not study before bed in order to reduce the use of electricity (haha)

What a great day to learn how to be kinder to our earth (and a perfect day to find an excuse to eat sweet green things).

A green day is definitely a good day.

oh yes she did

Hello bangs! I've always wanted to try this hairstyle out, but was too chicken. Luckily, today I was procrastinating with my studying and found myself in the bathroom with a pair of scissors. I chopped it all off before I let my brain change its mind. Definitely needs some getting used to. I'm going to wash and dry my hair to see if I missed any bits.

yay to taking risks!
(regardless of the outcome)

back to reality

What a trip! My three weeks in Hong Kong were definitely a blast, but by the end of it I was exhausted and couldn't have been more excited to go home to my family and friends. So when I saw Nathan at the airport with a sign with my name on it holding a flower, I melted a little :)

I'll miss you Hong Kong, but there's really no place like home.
